First of all, and as always a hearty thanks goes out to everybody who assisted in setting up and packing up at the end of the day. It’s those people who help make this event successful, and a joy to run for the Admins.

Secondly thanks goes to all the sponsors, particularly KikFM who managed to get airtime advertisement going in time for this LAN and future LAN’s.
The general feeling at DGA this last LAN was a positive one. People were no doubt glad to be back into the game after the two month break from us, and generally speaking the spirit was one of high times on the night.
There were a few issues this LAN and we’ll delve into those shortly so as to help rectify the situation for the next event.
Dinner / Pizza
Unfortunately due to low numbers early on, the Pizza was ordered later then expected. For this reason we’ll trial ordering the pizza at 7:45PM for the next LAN, hopefully with a delivery time of around 8:30-8:45PM. More information will be available at the next announcement shortly.
Power
Regretfully, and completely out of our control, most of Darwin lost power around 6AM Saturday morning, and didn’t start coming on in some area’s until 9AM. Due to this many people opted to leave during this time. Unfortunately running some form of power backup isn’t viable for us, and considering power was off for most of Darwin until 11AM, we managed to escape lighter then most.
Competitions & Time table
We did manage to give out a few prizes during the LAN, though we plan to give out many more at the next event. More information as time comes. Additionally the games played at this LAN was quiet different to the usual games we’ve played in the past. (at least during the evening session). We’ll be sorting out a time table to be submitted with the next LAN announcement or shortly there after.
So over all, we were mostly happy with the LAN, with holding the unfortunate power outage. We had 35 gamers at one stage during the night, with most registrants (minus a few) showing up and 12 + unregistered shows.
We’re interested in hearing what you have to say about the LAN or DGA in general, so please feel free to leave a comment to this thread, including suggestions for improvements.
Additionally, for DGA MMX Bravo (the next event to be held in February) we’ll be having half price entry across the floor… $10 for all.
