Bravo wrap-up, Charlie time & other things!

As always, a worthy thank you to all our helpers & administrators on the evening of Bravo and a special thanks to all our sponsors for the fantastic prizes given away during the event.
We expected Bravo to be better then Alpha, and we’re pleased to say it wasn’t a let down at all. We had over 40 people for the half price event, of which (disappointingly :p) many hadn’t registered.
Fortunately we had ample space to setup and game for all gamers, and if the success of Bravo is anything to go by, Charlie will be better, yet again.
We have more prizes & more games at the next event, with a schedule coming up shortly (if not already up by the time this post goes live). We are looking into hosting more events in the future at half price, but we lose money unless we get about 45 people to events (so get the word out!).
Pizza orders will be taken again supplied by our friends at Pizza hut who do a deal with us for $6.50 per pizza with extra’s coming in a $2 each (i.e. cheese stuffed crust & garlic breads etc). There will also be Coke & other soft drinks available for $1 each & a lunch will be arranged for Saturday.
Remember Pizza’s need to be ordered at 7pm sharp along with payment on ordering.
KikFM has been blasting the airwaves too with our advertisement, for which we’re very grateful, and will only help to improve the publicity of our events. Be sure to check them out at http://www.Kikdigital.com.au.
In addition to Delta, there’ll be another small demonstration LAN held in Palmerston in April for which some DGA members will be assisting the running of.
The LAN will be held within a gymnasium as part of Youth Week, and will start and end on Friday 16th of April between 5-11PM. The event is free entrance and while a focus is on youths, I’m sure arrangements can be made for some of the older gamers should they wish to tag along with their kids.
BTW, Youth is up to 29ish apparently.
While it is a short event, it’s free and will be a lot of fun and I’ll post more information once it’s been finalised.
Finally a quick word on the next Evo, we’ve had a lot of positive feedback regarding normal DGA events, and the topic of an Evo is frequently brought up. We haven’t forgotten, but keep in mind they’re large events and it wouldn’t be fair to hold one with regular LAN attendance numbers.
So here’s the deal.
If we can average 50 people for the next few months (or better yet completely smash that figure) we’ll host one this year. Evo will be a huge thing when it happens (not if). The more people we get in now the more likely it’ll happen sooner.
