DGA AGM – Friday 10/09/10

With the recent influx of new members, and more stable approach to events and assistance at these events, I’m pleased to announce the 2010 AGM.
Some will remember the old days of DGA, with numbers of attendees regularly reaching the triple digits, and I’m pleased to say we’re well on the way to building up numbers again.
Recently we’ve surpassed 30 gamers on average at each event (with peaks times reaching 40 attendees), and the number is steadily rising. This is due to the work of not only the people running the event, but especially the people who attend the event and pass on by word of mouth, the success. DGA doesn’t exist without the gamers, and with the recent launch of Star craft 2 and our capabilities with Internet access, we’re spreading out capacity even further.
DGA over the last two to three years has been a rather informal event, with the core crew and myself taking on multiple roles, often with our capabilities and time spread thin. While we’ve formalised some of the procedures, DGA is now more about the games and gamers then the formality.
We always welcome help and peoples suggestions.
DGA is looking for new core crew to run the events from inside, and working to increase the player base, and popularity of the DGA events.
If you have an interest in the future of DGA, the AGM will be the ideal meeting for you to attend.
At this meeting all positions will be open to voting for new members, of which anybody who attends will have a right to vote. For obvious reasons the Head of DGA can only be someone who’s been a core person in the past and be currently active in DGA. All other positions will be open to the floor (note there are only three official positions at current, but everybody has a say as a core member and there’s room for 6 people in the core).
You may nominate yourself, or nominate someone else for a position.
I will also be stepping down during this AGM, so a change of leadership will definitely happen.

It’ll be a meeting/BBQ type event, so be prepared to eat.
