DGA originated in 1995 from the ’TrustNo1 LAN’, a group of about 20 striving gamers, eager to spread their knowledge and encourage people to be apart of the gaming network. With this small group, the DGA vision was created, to one day have people from all walks of life joining in on the fun and expand to hundreds of people. It has taken much time and effort to get DGA where it is today, however we are just getting started!
DGA LAN Events are held regularly at the Chambers Cresent Theatre (Malak Shopping Centre), with an average of 40 gamers attending. Competitions and clan wars are regularly organised with prizes to be won. Lucky door prizes are also up for grabs for any paid participant. DGA open the doors at 5:30pm Friday and close at 5:30pm Saturday with $20.00 entry to participate. Guests are always welcomed to come down free of charge, have a look and ask some questions.
DGA is again working towards our Evolution (EVO) LAN Event, which is a much larger event attracting people from interstate. EVO is held over three days, it offers more games, competitions and greater prizes. EVO 4 (2004) attracted over 220 gamers excluding spectators. We continue to look forward to one day hosting an event of greater then 300 people.
DGA welcomes and is open to everyone to come down and be a spectator or an active participant. All that is needed is.
- Your computer with wired networking capability
- Keyboard and mouse.
- Monitor (32″ size or less only)
- Operating system Windows Vista or Windows XP (other systems may impact playability during the evening)
- Headphones.
- 5 meter network cable (limited amount can be supplied by DGA)
- Good Sportsmanship.
- Nibbles and drinks.
Non alcoholic Drinks and a Dinner (usually Pizza) are sold at the venue, all funds raised are put back into the organization.
Children under the age of 13 should be accompanied by an adult.
